The Kirribilli Runners (KRs) is a social and free running group for runners in Sydney's lower north shore. The KRs meet 6.30pm every Thursday night and 8am Sunday morning at the base of the Harbour Bridge stairs, Milsons Point. The Thursday night run is about 6 km's and soaks up the delightful sights of the world's best harbour; we unwind at the Kirribilli Hotel. And for those of you who are new, we have locker space near the start of the run. You can securely leave your bags, tracksuits and related clobber for the duration of the run there. Bring your friends along; inform them of this website; if persuasion is required, point out how glamorous, enjoyable and social our running club is. If they say they run by themselves — or worse, on a treadmill in a gym — you can point out how disheartening solo running is. As the French philosopher Jean Baudrillard observed: ‘The only comparable distress is that of a man eating alone in the heart of the city.’ (America, 1986). Indeed.
The Sunday run is less structured giving the opportunity to explore different routes around the city, lower north shore and harbour foreshore. The runs vary in length but are usually followed by a nice wind down at the Lounge Cafe, Milsons Point. For further details please email Dave.
